Nadcap is a global cooperative accreditation program for aerospace engineering, defense, and related industries. It is administered by the “Performance Review Institute (PRI).” PRI’s goal is to ensure that aircraft and aero engines are of the highest quality to ultimately protect the public. Before Nadcap, the responsibility for assuring subcontractor quality was shouldered by the individual aerospace companies. Nadcap is a user friendly tool that assists the industry by eliminating duplication of efforts, inconsistent applications of standards and unnecessary costs associated with redundant audits.
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) created Nadcap in 1990. Nadcaps membership of prime contractors conveys industry standards for special processes and products. The organizations mission is to provide national and international unbiased independent processing, product assessments and certification services for the purpose of adding value, reducing total costs and facilitating relationships between aerospace and defense buyers and Nadcap suppliers.
